Shaun C Murphy has a background in photographic darkroom processes and the conceptual ideas he developed through this work launched his artistic career. As well as his black and white film work, he has produced logo designs and has taught drawing, painting and watercolour.
Since 1993 he has lived on the Far North Coast of NSW. In 2000 he completed a Fine Arts course at Lismore North Coast Institute of TAFE. His recent works explore the dynamics between individuals, both alone and within group situations and group mentalities.
Shaun has recently exhibited his work on the Northern Rivers of NSW at Barebones Art Space, Bangalow; FEHVA/Buttery, Bangalow; Paperbark Gallery, Evans Head; Serpentine Gallery, Lismore and Art Aspects Gallery, Lismore. His 'Ulterior Interiors' show was held at Next Art Gallery, Lismore and his 'Squaring The Circle' exhibition was held at Armisteads Gallery, Lismore. Upcoming exhibition titled 'All Roads Lead To Lismore' is at Invercauld House, Lismore from September through November 2010.
